What we are providing and what we need ?

 Booking Fee

To secure your date, a £200 NON-REFUNDABLE booking fee is required. Without this, your date is not secure. This amount is taken off the balance for my photography services. When the booking fee is received, an exciting welcome pack will be sent to your home address. This will include our photography guide, giving you helpful hints and tips on the smooth running of your photography on the day. You will also be sent a contract to sign and return by email, along with a pre-wedding questionnaire if required to provide us with some more information about your day or event

Final Balance

The final balance is due on the 1st day of the month prior to your wedding or event ; so if your wedding is taking place on 20th Oct 2025, your balance is due 1st Sept 2025. This will mean your final balance can be due anytime from 4 weeks to around 8 weeks prior to your wedding day.

Postponements

If the client needs to postpone the wedding or event Kevin D Rhodes Photography will allow up to 1 amendment within 1 year from the original wedding or event  date only, before the £200 booking fee is retained and a new booking will be required. Any postponements rearranged out with the 1-year period will incur an additional fee in line with the current package prices at that time.

If the new proposed date is NOT available for Kevin D Rhodes Photography, the booking fee will NOT be refunded.

Cancellation Policy

In the unfortunate event that your wedding or event is cancelled (by anyone other than the photographer e.g. the couple, the venue or any other vendor involved in the wedding or event ), the £200 booking fee will be retained by Kevin D Rhodes Photography. If the cancellation is within the timescale that the full balance is due (within 8 weeks) and payment has been made, Kevin D Rhodes Photography reserves the right to forfeit any refund unless an alternative wedding is booked in with another client at the same or a higher value package.

In the rare occasion that the booked photographer is unable to attend, Kevin D Rhodes Photography will send a trusted associate photographer in their place who regularly works alongside or is routinely hired as a second photographer by Kevin D Rhodes Photography.

If in the unforeseen circumstance Kevin D Rhodes Photography needs to cancel the photography services, a FULL refund of any monies paid will be given including the £200 booking fee.

Order of the Day/Process

So the photography on the wedding day or event  runs smoothly, Kevin D Rhodes Photography must receive a rundown of the ‘Order of the Day’ by email, no later than 2 weeks prior to your wedding day or event. This will ensure the smooth running on the photographer’s part.

Kevin D Rhodes Photography or any associate photographer will NOT tolerate any abuse - whether verbal or physical, and will remove themselves from the situation immediately, ceasing ALL photography services. No refund or part refund will be given in these circumstances.

Kevin D Rhodes Photography will act as the sole photography service on the wedding day or event. This is to ensure a cohesive delivery, a seamless process and to avoid images being ruined by another photographer’s flash. In the event of another person taking photography, the client acknowledges that Kevin D Rhodes Photography are the sole hired photographer and due to time constraints on a wedding day or event, all attention is focused on the hired photographer. Kevin D Rhodes Photography accepts no responsibility for missed shots because of this.

Establishments and venues such as Churches, Cathedrals or other listed buildings hold restrictions as to what can and can’t be photographed within their establishment. Although Kevin D Rhodes Photography has constructed a list that can be referred to in such events, it is the client’s responsibility to establish if photography can be taken inside or outside of these venues. Kevin D Rhodes Photography cannot be held responsible for any important shots being missed because of these restrictions.

Editing

Every image is individually edited in my own personal and timeless style prior to delivery. Edits such as sympathetic skin retouching, adjusting colour tones and white balance, straightening and cropping are included in the cost of my services. If extensive retouching is required, this will be charged on an individual basis and discussed with each couple prior to commencement.

How do we work

We will have a planned running order for an event that will be discussed and finalised with you in advanced, this allows us to plan and capture, as needed .

Like baking a cake photography needs to have a story, so we can capture it in order, as much as possible for you to look back on, or to ensure that all those special photo's are there.

For a wedding we always have two cameras' , It is not something we can run  off and get another as they are specialist bits of kit , that we invest heavily in to bring you the best results.

There are occasions where things don't go to plan on either side but we will always try and accommodate, subject to time constraints.

Frequently asked Questions

FAQ section related to Weddings generally but covers a multitude of events

Are you insured?

Absolutely! I am fully insured. I also advise my couples to obtain wedding insurance for peace of mind. As are anyone that assists.

What is your shooting style?

I believe in keeping images timeless and want you to look back on your images in 5, 10 or even 25 years’ time and still think they’re classic, therefore I like to keep everything as natural and true to life as possible, and don’t tend to deviate from the natural, light and airy photography. I love to include some elegant and timeless black and white images amongst my galleries.

What camera and equipment do you use?

I shoot with 2 professional Canon camera bodies and have many different lenses to change depending on the setting, we will even bring extra lights should they be needed, in most settings they are not required.

Do you edit images?

Yes. All images are edited, as required using the leading industry software, Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. I look at every image individually and work on them one by one. I edit subtly;  I’ll remove blemishes but never make you look airbrushed, unless of course that’s exactly what you want. I make you look like you.

Any extensive editing such as airbrushing or removing/changing objects from the image are charged individually as these edits are very time consuming for a photographer. It can often take several hours per image or alternatively they must be sent away to professional retouches’ who specialise in image editing. What I suggest is choosing a few of your absolute favourite images you’d like extensively edited and stick to those few for your wall art or larger images in your albums. Prices are based on the extensiveness of the edit.

Do you or can you bring along a second photographer?

Absolutely! A second photographer means more capture. They are my eyes for the things I can’t possibly ever see. All my full day packages include a second photographer as part of the package, but it can also be added on to my short day and half day package if required. I routinely use the same second photographer, however they are unavailable for any reason, I have several others that I can hire to shot alongside me. They can capture your guests mingling whilst I have you for portraits or capture the finer details of your portraits or alternative angles whilst I’m capturing the full-length shots, they can capture your reception room décor whilst I’m finalising the group shots, they can capture one half of the couple whilst I capture the other at morning prep. As, you see, hiring that second photographer means there won’t be too many missed moments. Hiring a second photographer is not the cost of your main photographer times 2! A second photographer is hired at a rate of £350 for the whole day or £250 for 2 hours of bridal or groom prep. So, you see it makes sense to have them for the whole day. And why are they only priced at £350 whilst you’re more than double that? Well once your wedding day is done, so is theirs. They hand me the cards from their cameras and they’re on their way. I still have weeks of editing ahead of me to deliver the most perfect of galleries to you!

How far do you travel for a wedding?

I will travel all over Scotland and the UK. 100 miles round trip is included in my fee. Further afield and overnight stays will incur an extra charge

How do I book?

I’m so glad we’ve got to this point! Booking is a simple process. Complete the ‘Contact’ form on this page by clicking on the ‘Contact Us’ button at the bottom of this page or on the ‘Home’ page and I will be in touch. First, to check that your date is available, and if so, to complete my online questionnaire. This will give me a little bit more information about your day and what your needs are. Once we have established this and had a little chat, I will request a NON-RETURNABLE booking fee of £200. This will secure your date. And that is it, it’s as simple as that and we get to become family.

I keep in contact with you for the duration of your booking; I invite you into the studio to have a few consultations with a glass of bubbly before your wedding day. If you can’t attend in person, I give the option of as many zoom calls as you’d like to chat things over. This gives us the chance to get your photography vision nailed down, because let’s face it, once the day is done, all that’s left is the core memories, I’m here to ensure those core memories are captured and cemented in your history.

As part of all my full day wedding packages, I offer a complimentary engagement style photoshoot. This can happen anytime between booking and ideally 6/8 weeks before your wedding day - I find that anything closer than this to your wedding, you’re too busy in your little organising bubble. It allows for a practice run in a sense and gives you a little idea of what it feels like to do some gently directed posing …. which you may hate and then decide it’s candid photography all the way! Your photoshoot can be anywhere you want it to be, somewhere special, the site of your engagement proposal, a beach, a forest walk, an urban city shoot. But wherever you choose needs to be within reason and ideally within 25/30 mile radius of my home in EH54. It can also be helpful if I shot it at your wedding venue as it gets you comfortable with having the photography taken in these surrounding and will be less daunting on the wedding day. I understand this isn’t always possible due to commitments and bookings already held with the venue or if there’s travelling involved; so, in these circumstances, we would aim for a location closer to home. And this little shoot would be perfect for your ‘Save the Date’ cards.

As I have limited availability, especially during weekends and during peak wedding season (April to September), these photoshoots a lot of the time must be done either during weekdays or on a Sunday. But I will always try and accommodate you when I can.

What if I need to cancel?

I encourage all my couples to have wedding insurance for this purpose. I understand that things happen in life and issues arise. And hopefully you don’t need to cancel your wedding but instead postpone. But if something unexpected arises, I will endeavour to move your date to your new chosen date (if available). I will only be able to accommodate 1 changes of dates (if available) and if the date needs to be changed a 2nd time, the original £200 booking fee will be retained by Kevin D Rhodes Photography AND a new booking; including a £200 NON REFUNDABLE booking fee will be required.

Do you capture morning preparations?

Absolutely! It’s my favourite part of any wedding day. My full day packages include morning preparations. Unfortunately, if you book my half day package and want this part of your day captured, I can’t do both as there is just no time. If you hire a second shooter as an add on to your wedding package, one of us will photograph one half of the couple with their wedding party and the other will photograph the other with their wedding party.

How long do you shoot for on a wedding day?

A typical wedding day for me normally lasts around 10 hours. Morning preparations, followed by the ceremony, then couples’ shots and group shots and finally the speeches. I would then take a break to recharge before capturing the first few dances in the evening reception. I’ve seen enough weddings in my time, that time is know on occasions the wedding meal can run over, and therefore I allow for an extra 1 hour, but any additional hours over the chosen package hours will incur a charge of £120 per hour thereafter.

Additional activities on the day such as singing servers will incur an additional charge of £100, as this is the time I would take a break to re-charge, and it means that I would be working for up to 10 hours with no break.

Do you need to feed me? It is normal to be a fed at the venue, as it would detract from being able to catch all those special moments if was elsewhere. It does mean I am still busy taking photos also.  Like you I will have been up early and finish late .

What type of photography can we expect?

I want to capture it all! Although sometimes it’s not possible to capture every single detail of a day and that’s why I always encourage my couples to hire a second photographer who works alongside me and captures the parts that I physically can’t see. What I aim for is a vast mix of scenes from your morning preparations; hair, makeup, getting dressed, accessories, ceremony and venue shots including flowers, aisle, table décor, ceremony shots; walking down the aisle, exchanging rings, first kiss, group shots of family members, couples portraits, speeches and finally up to the first 3 or 4 dances from the evening reception. And a whole mix of candid shots of your guests that they don’t even know are being taken. This will give you a documentary style selection of your special day.

How many images can I expect to receive?

I believe in quality over quantity; there’s nothing worse than seeing so much repetition in a wedding gallery so what I do is chose 1 or 2 of a similar image (even if I’ve taken 4 or 5 and love every single one) I’ll chose the absolute best of everything for your gallery. I aim to shoot approximately 40-50 images per hour so a full day booking of 10 hours, you can expect to receive in the region of 400-500 jpg images, dependent upon your package. If you’ve hired a second photographer as part of your wedding package, this number will increase. But remember, quality over quantity is the key.

How long will I wait for my photos?

I aim to have your wedding fully edited as per your package and on your own online gallery in around 8-10 weeks from the date of your wedding; this is normally a lot quicker out with peak wedding season.

How will I receive my images?

Your gallery will also be available for you to access from the comfort of your own home repeatedly for 1 year. It will be delivered to you online via an email prompt; this will be your own private gallery which you will access with your own chosen password. There will be tears, I guarantee there will be, but they’ll be the happiest tears. Every image can be downloaded in high resolution or Low resolution as per package and shared with your friends and family. I recommend you download your gallery onto Cloud storage as well as a portable storage device such as a hard-drive or a USB pen drive. My album packages include a USB of your gallery to keep.

Do you offer prints and albums?

Absolutely! All images from your day are available to purchase as prints. I use a professional printing service to ensure the best quality of prints that last. My various package(s) includes an exquisite a wedding album which is presented in its own coordinating box, which beautifully documents your day. I plan and design your album choosing images that work well together and tell the story of your day. I aim to include up to 100 of your standout images in your album.  A 20-sided Album is in many packages, this can be increased as required at supplemental cost. Prices of wedding albums vary starting at £695, and depend upon finish, pages, and other extra’s, parent albums start at £150 (although these must be ordered along with the album as this is a smaller storybook replica of the luxury album), and smaller storybook albums start from £300. I have many other beautiful products available to purchase which include exquisite, mounted prints, print boxes and frames. We use an established Professional print lab service in Scotland
